Through understanding these ââ¬Å"rolesâ⬠, the reader can come to a more informed understanding with regards to the fact that theory plays a defining role in helping to shape these interactions and define these engagements. Whereas all of the theories that have been put forward area useful with regards to understanding human action, they must also be understood in terms of motivating roles that constrain and nearly require individuals to behave in certain predisposed manner. Although it is most certainly true that people have a free will and can exercise their own rational choice with regards to what roles they fulfill and what level of engagement they offer, the theories and approaches that have thus far been put forward provide help to underscore the fact that even decisions that are seemingly made ââ¬Å"independentlyâ⬠are in fact constrained by powerful choice mechanisms that lie nearly outside the control of the individual within the business environment. By engaging with such a reality and understanding these dynamics more closely, the business leader can more effectively target their approach to appeal to these core determinants. Smith, W.
